When you support the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County, you're helping more than 12% of your neighbors who struggle to put food on the table. Many are seniors who worked all their lives, but now live on fixed incomes that don't stretch very far. Almost half are children of underemployed or working low-income families. Many are families with modest paychecks that just can't cover the high cost of living in our area.
The Food Bank is the only countywide source of nutritious food for people and agencies from San Miguel to Nipomo. Your contribution stays right here, helping keep our citizens strong and healthy.
We help support the good work of more than 200 non-profit agencies in the county: soup kitchens, after school programs, senior centers, recovery centers, food pantries, residential centers and homeless shelters. When you support us, you're helping them too.

The Food Bank also manages our own direct programs that put food into the hands of those in need throughout the county. One is our Senior Brown Bag Program. It puts food into the hands of people earning about $1200 or less in their retirement years. Twice a month, seniors receive a bag of staples and a bag of fresh produce to help them live healthy, more comfortable lives.
