Feeding Young Minds & Bodies

April 1, 2016

Each April SESLOC Federal Credit Union invites the community to join them in supporting the Lovin' Lunchbox program. In our county, more than 16,000 children participate in the free or reduced price school meals program during the school year. During the summer their families struggle to provide these meals, but the Lovin’ Lunchbox program steps in to help.

Proper nutrition is essential to a healthy mind. With your support, children in our community can have better opportunities for successful learning. Your donation will help the Food Bank distribute nutritious meals to children in need this summer. This year, SESLOC will also include the Food Bank's Children’s Farmers Market as a beneficiary of your generosity. You can contribute to these important programs at any SESLOC branch throughout April. Donations at our Santa Maria branch will benefit the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County.

"As a credit union founded by educators and committed to local education, the Lovin’ Lunchbox and Children's Farmers Market programs are close to our hearts. We know that hunger and poor nutrition are severe roadblocks to a child’s learning process. We’re proud to support these programs that promote well-nourished minds and bodies and help prepare our youth to succeed in school and in life." - Geri LaChance, CEO
