The Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, serving all of San Luis Obispo County through food distribution programs and a network of community partners. Our mission is to alleviate hunger in San Luis Obispo County and build a healthier community. Last year we distributed nearly 6 million pounds of nutritious food to help our neighbors struggling with hunger. Almost half of the food we distributed was fresh produce, including over 250,000 pounds harvested locally by our GleanSLO program. We collaborate with our nation’s network of Food Banks and effectively utilize our team of over 2,100 volunteers, keeping our overhead at a very low 6%.
There are 46,000 San Luis Obispo County residents who struggle with hunger and unfortunately the majority are those who are most vulnerable: children and seniors.
