Holiday Opportunities
Food drives help us meet extra demand during the holiday season
The holiday season can be very difficult for people who are chronically or occasionally short of food. That's why so many SLO County citizens regularly help the Food Bank Coalition by giving back during this time of year. It's a good feeling to share with neighbors as you celebrate with your colleagues, friends and family.
Everyone can help the Food Bank during the holidays!
Organizations Can Help
- Host a holiday "giving tree" in your place of business
- Wrap a donation box in holiday paper for your counter
- Have a food drive with your colleagues and clients
- Reward customers for donating with a discount or coupon
- Volunteer as a group at grocery store food drive barrels
- Collect food and donations at church services
Individuals Can Help
- Join in the KCOY Turkey Drive on 11/13 at Sierra Vista and Twin Cities hospitals
- Make a secure donation online -- we can stretch each dollar into 10 pounds of food
- Bring non-perishables to our holiday partner drop off locations throughout SLO County
- Buy a can of food for our barrels when you shop at local grocery stores starting November 1st
