Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP)

The Food Bank Coalition administers EFAP, a federally funded program and supplies food once a month to low-income families and individuals of all ages through its USDA Commodities Program. These distributions are held at community centers, churches, senior centers and veteran’s halls throughout the county. Here is a link for EFAP Commodity Fact Sheets and Recipes

What do you receive?

Generally, we provide the following types of food:

  • Breads, cereals, canned goods, snack foods, fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Each household will receive a bag of shelf stable food items, as well as a bag of healthy produce

How do I qualify?

1. Must attend the distribution held within your local community
2. Must self-certify that you meet the income guidelines listed below:

  • $1,361 or less per month for an individual
  • $1,839 or less per month for a 2-person household
  • $2,316 or less per month for 3-person household
  • Add $478 for each additional person

What do you need to provide?

No income documentation is required, but recipients are asked to bring proof of address in the form of a driver’s license, bill or other piece of mail.
