Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP)

The Food Bank Coalition administers EFAP, a federally funded program and supplies food once a month to low-income families and individuals of all ages through its USDA Commodities Program. These distributions are held at community centers, churches, senior centers and veteran’s halls throughout the county. Here is a link for EFAP Commodity Fact Sheets and Recipes.
What do you receive?
Generally, we provide the following types of food:
- Breads, cereals, canned goods, snack foods, fresh fruits and vegetables
- Each household will receive a bag of shelf stable food items, as well as a bag of healthy produce
How do I qualify?
1. Must attend the distribution held within your local community
2. Must self-certify that you meet the income guidelines
What do you need to provide?
No income documentation is required, but recipients are asked to bring proof of address in the form of a driver’s license, bill or other piece of mail.
