Nutrition Education

The Nutrition Outreach Program works to educate the community on how to prepare the food individuals receive from the Food Bank in healthy and low-cost ways, so that quantities of wasted food are reduced and the nutritious food can be enjoyed and really nourish the community that it feeds.

Program Goals

To improve the likelihood that persons eligible for CalFresh will make healthy food choices within a limited budget and choose physically active lifestyles consistent with the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) food guidance.
