Summer Meals for Children & Teens

As the school year comes to an end, so do the free breakfast and lunch programs relied upon by more than 16,000 San Luis Obispo County children and teens. To bridge the gap until the next school year and ensure children have access to nutritious food year-round, the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County will provide free breakfast, lunch and/or snacks at sites throughout the County.

Free summer meals are offered at select libraries, schools, recreation centers, and other agencies with strong ties to the community.

“The families in Oceano were so thankful with the summer food program. One mom in particular told me, ‘I really appreciate the lunches you give away to my children, we are currently struggling financially and by providing a lunch to my kids makes a huge impact because I don’t have to worry what to offer them for lunch.’” Oceano School Readiness Center Coordinator
